MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
After a thorough review of financials and where Retrailia is currently sitting with regards to the size of our current membership base, the amount of potential revenue from those members paying their dues, realistic number of potential new sales, amount of income from off roaders, and the amount of outstanding unpaid dues, it was concluded that some tough decisions needed to be made to ensure the survival of the company and the ability to camp this year.
Out of our five current parks, we have determined which will be open for this summer season. Lakeside Park and Zions Gate RV Resorts are currently open and will remain open the rest of the year. Pleasant Creek Ranch will open sometime before Memorial Weekend. The date will be determined based upon funds, snow levels, and people paying their dues. How long the park will stay open during the season will depend on revenue from off roaders and membership sales. This gives us a total of three parks open for the 2017 season. To ensure Pleasant Creek Ranch can open for the season we still need our members to pay their dues.
Pleasant Creek Ranch, Lakeside Park and Zions Gate RV Resorts cost us the least to operate. These parks will also be taken off the market. They will not be sold.
Unfortunately, this means that neither Echo Island Ranch nor Knotty Pine will be open this upcoming year. This is strictly a financial decision based on the lack of dues being paid on time and the size of our current membership base.
Knotty Pine costs almost as much to run as Lakeside and Pleasant Creek Ranch combined and it provides us with fewer sites to camp than these two parks do combined.
In addition, Echo Island Ranch has a major water problem. There are too many water leaks and at times we have used as much water as the whole city of Coalville, our high was 2,357,000 gallons in one month. Prior to these leaks, our high summer water was 599,000 gallons in one month. All last year whenever a leak was identified we were fixing the holes, but the only permanent fix is to replace all the old pipes in the park. These pipes are galvanized steel water pipes and over the years with the level of the ground water and electrolysis they are rusting through. These leaking pipes are just adding water to the river and causing our water and sewer bill to climb. Both water and sewer fees are based upon water usage, therefore all the leaks cost everyone extra money. The City of Coalville has communicated the need to get this issue fixed and they are unwilling to work with us on the water and sewer usage fees.
We ask for your understanding with these decisions. They are based on what is best for sustaining this organization so our members can enjoy camping during the 2017 season and hopefully beyond.
THE FUTURE OF RETRAILIA IS IN OUR MEMBERS HANDS - MEANING IN YOUR HANDS.
PLEASE PAY YOUR ANNUAL FEES WHEN DUE!
